Solo violin repertoire
As a solo violinist I have covered an extremely varied repertoire for the violin from the 17th century to the present day. Programs presented so far have included works by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, Niccola Matteis, Giuseppe Tartini, Georg Philip Telemann, Eugene Ysaye, Allesandro Gorli and many others. Concerts can be a combination of baroque and modern violin as well as recitals focusing solely on baroque repertoire in particular on the works of J.S. Bach. Recitals with harpsichord accompaniment focus on the repertoire covered in my DMus research including works by Gaetano Pugnani and Giovanni Battista Viotti. More recently I have ventured into folk repertoire in particular in concerts with Due Corde and The Akenside Trio.
As a concertmaster I have performed solos in works such as: J.S. Bach’s St. John’s Passion, the B minor Mass and a number of cantatas as well as Handel’s oratorios Solomon and Messiah as well as Chandos Anthems and Dixit Dominus.
